Just like every other business in and out of the video game industry, the pandemic had a negative impact on Capcom’s plans, forcing the company to delay several of its upcoming games. Two years later and it appears that Capcom is more than ready to rebound.

According to Capcom’s most recent financial report, the video game publisher wants to ship 45 new SKUs for fiscal year 2023. Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Capcom has 45 different new titles in the pipeline. SKUs include different versions of the same game for various platforms, so Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak counts as 2 SKUs since it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch and the PC. In comparison, Capcom dropped 35 new SKUs in the fiscal year 2020 and 14 in 2021, and 24 in 2022. With double the SKUs planned for the fiscal year 2023, Capcom has a huge year planned for itself. Unfortunately, the only confirmed project is Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. However, this hasn’t stopped fans from making educated guesses. For example, we know Capcom will drop a DLC for Resident Evil Village at some point. Also, Exoprimal is primed for 2023. Fans are expecting Street Fighter VIto come out by March 2023 as well. On top of all these, there are other possibilities, including a sequel to Dragon’s Dogma, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and Monster Hunter 6, which all appeared in the Nvidia GeForce Now leak. With far more Capcom games potentially on the docket, it will be interesting to see what Capcom will announce between now and March next year. Speaking of Capcom, the Japanese company is sitting on a treasure trove of franchises that should make a comeback. Even if the likes of Breath of the Wild and Dino Crisis don’t return soon, we’re hoping that Capcom considers taking a look at its forgotten IPs. With Square Enix breathing life into its older JRPGs with Valkyrie Elysium and Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, there is a market for remasters and new installments of classic Capcom titles.
