However, now that the makers of The Witcher video games have confirmed that it is working on The Witcher 4, fans can’t help but worry if the studio has completely forgotten about the open-world RPG and any DLC for it.
At the moment, Cyberpunk 2077’s developers have yet to issue an official statement, but one developer confirmed that the game is far from dead. According to quest director, Pawel Sakso, CD Projekt RED is “still improving the game” and the studio is “aware that there is work to be done”. Sasko’s comments came in a recent live stream that a Redditor captured and shared with others.
Don’t let the improved Steam reviews fool you, Cyberpunk 2077 is still not complete. After promising the moon and stars to gamers, Cyberpunk 2077 was a massive disappointment. It got to the point that people started doubting if CD Projekt RED could redeem its reputation. Sony even delisted Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store, a move that took more than half a year to undo. The only silver lining here is that CD Projekt RED appears to like what it is seeing from the fan reception of patch 1.5. In particular, Sakso mentioned that the studio is “happy” to see that fans “liked 1.5” and that this gives them an “incentive to work” because the game’s developers know that players appreciate their efforts. Unfortunately, it appears that Sakso is the only one open to talking about what CDPR has planned for Cyberpunk 2077. Previously, Sasko also teased that he’s just waiting “for a time where more could be revealed about the #Cyberpunk2077 expansion.” Hopefully, news of Cyberpunk 2077’s promised DLCs and expansions come sooner rather than later. The longer it takes for more Cyberpunk 2077 to arrive, the more anxious fans become.
