Unfortunately, Disney+ hasn’t confirmed when exactly the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will premiere - until now.
As leaked by Disney Plus executive Brandon San Giovanni on Twitter (and spotted by IGN), Obi-Wan will say “Hello there” on Disney Plus this May. Although San Giovanni later retracted his statement, deleting the tweet and locking his account suggests that he wasn’t talking about an upcoming Obi-Wan comic. Furthermore, a report from The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the McGregor-led series will start streaming on Disney+ in May as well.
— The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) February 4, 2022 If it’s any consolation, McGregor confirmed last year that Obi-Wan had already finished filming. A May release would give the showrunners several months to do editing and post-processing work, among other things. If this is true, then Disney+ is sitting on a trailer for Obi-Wan, which could be released anytime now. As for Obi-Wan, the series will reportedly feature McGregor’s Jedi Master in never-before-seen adventures that transpired in between 2005’s Revenge of the Sith and 1977’s A New Hope. Ultimately, only Disney knows when Obi-Wan will be released. But, it is curious that Marvel’s Moon Knight will run for six weeks starting on March 30 on Disney+, as confirmed in an earlier trailer. Going by this timeline, Moon knight would end on May 4. Since Disney+ usually gives a few weeks in between big releases, Obi-Wan could premiere as soon as the second week of May. Of course, this is all just speculation, so we suggest that you take everything that you just read with a grain of salt.
