Developer Midgar Studio confirmed that the RPG Edge of Eternity will be released in its definitive version later in 2021 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. Since 2018, when it was made available in early access on Steam, Edge of Eternity has racked up several positive reviews on the platform, something that has earned it a legion of fans and created an increasingly ambitious development expectation. Fortunately, almost 3 years later, players won’t have to wait much longer to get to know its full version, closing a story as dense as those of the classic RPGs. When Edge of Eternity leaves early access and fly towards the roster of fully done games, it promises to add more than 20 hours of gameplay to its already 40 hours of gameplay, featuring more characters and events that will determine their futures according to the choices you make during the gameplay. The title features Yasunori Mitsuda, composer for Chrono Trigger and Xenoblade Chronicles, and isn’t shy to show strong inspiration from the Final Fantasy series. It boasts a classical strategic turn-based battle system but adds a feature where spells can target a grid, thus hitting more opponents at a time. Something familiar to players acquainted with Wild Arms 4 and 5.

The Story of Edge of Eternity

We play as Daryon and Selene in a broken world that faces an all-consuming Corrosion. The heroes are on a quest to find a cure to said Corrosion, while the people of Heryon wage war against a mysterious invader. It’s an epic tale of magic versus technology that we all know, but love to see new versions of. As if that wasn’t enough, amid all this ruckus, another threat appears on the battlefield to take the plot to new heights.
