The latest Elden Ring news comes by way of a still-unconfirmed Bandai Namco ransomware attack. Hours after news broke that someone had gotten their hands on Bandai Namco’s files, the internet is now full of potential leaks about the publisher’s upcoming games. The one that stands out is the slide, “Major Titles Planned for FY2023 Release”, which runs from April 2022 to March 2023. Based on the image, Elden Ring will receive its first DLC, “Barbarians of the Badlands”, at some point between October and December. Naturally, Elden Ring fans jumped on the bandwagon, but some aren’t buying it because of the following reasons:

Make no mistake, FromSoftware will release an Elden Ring DLC but we’ll just have to wait to find out what it is going to be and when it is coming out. Besides, do you really think that FromSoftware will use the Badlands for the Elden Ring DLC?
The place is interesting, but we’ve defeated the “chieftain” there already. We also have to keep in mind that FromSoftware never really releases DLCs based on what players expect. Case in point, Dark Souls 3 built up Londor, the Land of Hollows, as the next best thing only for the DLCs to be about completely different locations as explored in “Ashes of Ariandel” and “The Ringed City.” Not that we’re complaining. FromSoftware always delivers quality post-launch content for its games. We don’t think that the studio will start dropping the ball with Elden Ring, which is its best-selling game ever. In the meantime, Elden Ring players can keep themselves busy trying to get Bandai Namco to notice them. The publisher already gave Let Me Solo Her a commemorative sword after beating Malenia more than 1,000 times. We’re pretty sure the Elden Ring player who logged a thousand hours will be next.
