TLDR; people expected a lot from Halo Infinite and, for the most part, it delivered. However, while Halo Infinite’s single-player campaign was an excellent effort from 343, taking around a dozen hours to complete, it appears that one speedrunner has just cleared through the entire thing in less than thirty minutes.

Sasquatch takes speedrunning to a whole other level

Speedrunners spend countless hours trying to break games and find ways to complete everything in as little time as possible. On average, Halo Infinite’s campaign would take gamers around 8 to 12 hours to complete. But, to no one’s surprise, speedrunners have found glitches and exploits that help them clear through the entire campaign in less time. Even though using such loopholes in the game is not cheating, it’s still shocking to find out that someone found a way to finish a 12-hour campaign in less time it would most people to cook a meal. According to Sasquatch, a popular speedrunner, he managed to complete the Halo Infinite campaign in 29 minutes and 49 seconds. Previously, the record-holder was Cryphon, who had completed the game in 30 minutes and 31 seconds. Of course, Sasquatch didn’t 100% Halo Infinite during his record-setting speedrun attempt. This means that he just completed the game by any means necessary. Then again, this doesn’t make his feat any less impressive, especially as doing so requires utmost precision, focus, and concentration. As you can see from the video showing the entire attempt, Sasquatch took full advantage of the all-new Grapple Shot’s ability to help Master Chief move as fast as possible. We’re curious to find out just how long Sasquatch’s record will last. The previous record-holder didn’t stay long either, so we shouldn’t expect this to be any different. But, then again, who knows? Completing Halo Infinite’s campaign in less than 30 minutes is no joke. Future speedrunners will have their work cut out for them if they want to beat Sasquatch’s time even by a few seconds. If you haven’t had a chance to play Halo Infinite just yet, it’s high time that you did. The latest Halo installment comes free to all Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Once you’re done with it, you can then move on to Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which is another space-faring soap opera albeit one that has a bit more drama and romance to it.
