Cavill joined Josh Horowitz’s Happy, Sad, Confused podcast where he denied talks that he’s joining the Game of Thrones universe. Specifically, here’s what Cavill said about House of the Dragon: In the same podcast, Cavill revealed that he’s not going to join Season 2 of Marvel Studios’ hit TV show, Loki. We don’t know what the future holds for Cavill, but for now, it’s safe to say that Cavill isn’t going to be playing the Conqueror anytime soon. Season 1 of House of the Dragon just concluded and Season 2 won’t start filming until next year. If George R.R. Martin has his way, House of the Dragon will run for three more seasons, in order to give the Dance of the Dragons justice. By then, maybe Cavill’s schedule will have cleared up and House of the Dragon will explore “earlier” eras of the Targaryen history. Who knows? Cavill might end up playing the role of Westeros’ first king once that happens.. Speaking of Cavill, more than 200,000 fans have signed up to join the petition to keep him on Netflix’s The Witcher, and to have the showrunners replaced instead.
