Fast forward to today and it appears that EA is interested in bringing back the long-dormant series of games.

When is EA going to release a new Fight Night game?

According to VGC, EA has already started the development of a new Fight Night game under the codename, Moneyball. Unfortunately, it’s not all good news. The report states that EA Canada isn’t going to prioritize the next Fight Night game. Instead, the core development of the long-rumored title will have to resume once EA Canada has finished working on the next EA Sports UFC game, which is believed to be scheduled for a 2022 release.

— Lennox Lewis, CBE, CM (@LennoxLewis) February 10, 2020 In early 2020, three-time heavyweight champion boxer Lennox Lewis reignited talks of a potential Fight Night revival because of his above tweet. A few months after, there were also reports that Eddie Hearn, a known boxing promoter, had pitched a Fight night revival to Electronic Arts. The demand for a new Fight Night game is there. Unfortunately, it’s not up to audiences for EA to consider working on the series again. Then again, who knows? If there’s enough incentive in it, EA might consider bringing back Fight Night. After all, earlier this year, EA decided to bring back another dormant series of sports titles in EA Sports PGA Tour after 2K Sports signed Tiger Woods to its own PGA Tour franchise. With Esports Boxing Club in the works and boxing experiencing a resurgence in mainstream popularity, it might be only a matter of time before EA officially announces the Fight Night revival.
