While we’re still doubtful that Pratt can do Mario justice, we can at least take solace that the Marvel and Jurassic World actor is ecstatic. No more than 24 hours after the poster and images of the Super Mario movie founds their way online way before its official reveal, Pratt took to Twitter to express his excitement to play the Italian plumber.

— Chris Pratt (@prattprattpratt) October 4, 2022 The Super Mario movie feels like a fever dream with an all-star cast playing dream roles. In addition to Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy will voice Princess Peach with Keegan-Michael Key as Toad. Also, both Jack Black and Charlie Day will lend their talents to voice Bowser and Luigi, respectively. Make no mistake, the upcoming film is still very much a huge question mark. After we saw SEGA do what it did with the pair of Sonic the Hedgehog films ranking as among the best video game films of all time, Nintendo at least deserves the benefit of the doubt. Mario is a more well-known entity, which might work against it. But, at the very least, this guarantees that people will flock to the theaters to watch the film if only out of curiosity. Make sure to tune in to the next Nintendo Direct on October 6 to see Super Mario in action ahead of its delayed launch on April 7. In other Nintendo news, the massive Japanese gaming company just launched a dedicated website for Nintendo Pictures. This all but guarantees that the Super Mario film will be the first of many.
