Despite all the controversy surrounding him, Paul continues to silence naysayers. This time around, Paul has defeated Tyron Woodley via split decision in the main event of a boxing card that was held at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Sunday night, securing his fourth straight victory.

Paul continues to prove his haters wrong

Several of Paul’s pundits were sure that he’d lose at the hands of Woodley. By far, Woodley was the hardest-hitting opponent that Paul has faced so far in his career. The 39-year-old former UFC fighter was a UFC welterweight champion during his time and was successfully able to defend his title multiple times. He also made a career out of knocking his opponents out cold. Yet, Jake Paul was able to withstand eight rounds against Woodley to secure his fourth straight win as a professional boxer. It wasn’t for the lack of effort though. Woodley appeared poised to win the match after landing a big right hand on Paul in the fourth round. Unfortunately for Woodley, he was unable to close the round with a knockout. By surviving (if only barely), Paul’s work throughout the rest of the bout was enough to secure him the victory. While the loss comes off as a shock at first glance, it’s important to put Woodley’s performance into context. He may have entered the fight as the more experienced combat sports athlete, but this was his first professional boxing fight. He was also fighting at 190 pounds, which was Woodley’s first time competing at that weight. On the other hand, Paul has spent the last couple of years training as a professional boxer. Paul’s first fight came in January 2020 after he scored a first-round knockout over British YouTuber, AnEsonGib. He has since fought and knocked out former NBA Slam Dunk champion, Nate Robinson, as well as former UFC fighter, MMA champion, and Olympic wrestler, Ben Askren.

What’s next for Jake Paul?

“You need to stop running my friend!” “Take the fight!"@tommytntfury and @jakepaul finally came face-to-face backstage and it was absolute chaos! 👀 pic.twitter.com/1398ZTZzMZ — Boxing on BT Sport 🥊 (@BTSportBoxing) August 30, 2021 If it were up to Woodley, he’d like a rematch against Paul, and he immediately demanded one following the loss. Paul simply responded by saying that the rematch will only happen if Woodley got an “I love Jake Paul” tattoo on his leg. Having said that, Paul isn’t exactly going to run out of potential opponents. In addition to Woodley, Paul could fight against Tommy Fury next. The English reality TV star recently called out Paul after winning his match. Meanwhile, Paul himself has expressed before that he hopes to square up against another controversial figure in Soulja Boy. There are reports that Paul received at least $1 million just for fighting Woodley. Because of how lucrative this is for Paul, we don’t think that Paul is going to stop training and fighting anytime soon.
