Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg are teaming up as modern-day hunters of the aforementioned creatures for the upcoming Netflix action-comedy film, Day Shift. The film sees Foxx play a blue-collar dad named Reid who uses his pool-cleaning business as a cover for his real job as a vampire hunter. In addition to Foxx and Snoop Dogg, Day Shift will include other marquee names like Dave Franco and Meagan Good. Don’t make the silly premise fool you, as the trailer shows, Day Shift is full of action as well as gore. Then again, what would you expect from a film produced by the John Wick series director, Chad Stahelski? Apart from Stahelski, another John Wick alum is on board as J.J. Perry makes his directorial debut. He previously worked as the stunt coordinator on several films such as John Wick: Chapter 2 and Fast and Furious 9. With Day Shift coming to Netflix on August 12, the streamer has several must-watch films lined up for next month, which include:
Wedding Season (August 4) Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie (August 5) 13: The Musical (August 12) Look Both Ways (August 17) Lost Ollie (August 24) Me Time (August 26) I Came By (August 31)
The past six months haven’t been kind to Netflix after it lost millions of subscribers and saw its stock value plummet in a space of a week. However, the streaming service is on an upswing after welcoming new seasons of some of its biggest shows. For example, Stranger Things Season 4 just joined Squid Game at the top of streaming charts as the only Netflix shows with at least a billion hours viewed within 28 days of filming.
