Variety reported on Cena’s appearance first before it was later confirmed in the most recent SmackDown episode. The final blue show of the WWE for this year will take place in Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL. Sources claim that the WWE will make more announcements heading into the WWE’s final pair of shows. After being the face of the WWE for the better part of the past two decades, Cena stepped away from the squared circle to break into Hollywood in recent years. Cena’s role as Peacemaker with the DC Universe is expected to take up most of his time after appearing in Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, which is confirmed to be getting a follow-up season as well as spin-offs. Cena’s most recent WWE appearance was in June when he celebrated his 20th Anniversary with the company. However, his latest in-ring performance was last year when he teamed up with The Mysterios against The Bloodline. Now that Triple H is Head of Creative, the wrestling community is hoping that “The Game” will use WrestleMania 39 to make his mark. Because of this, there are rumblings Triple H will book several fan-favorite wrestlers for potentially iconic matches. We’ve heard of talks that everyone from Stone Cold to The Rock will return in April. But, the most likely legend who may see action is John Cena and it might be up against Logan Paul. Cena was the first to start the fuel mill after he mentioned Logan Paul as his next potential opponent. Paul later replied to this on social media, claiming he texted Triple H about making it happen. Cena even replied after all of this, which, in the eyes of some, confirms that the WWE has already booked Cena vs Paul for WrestleMania 39. Ultimately, this is speculation, and it’s not like WrestleMania 39 is the only event scheduled between now and then. Keep in mind that the Royal Rumble is scheduled for January 28 in San Antonio. Cena could be a part of the men’s Royal Rumble match or take part in a different match on the card. He could also be more involved with the WWE in the next few months if only so that he isn’t as rusty if he comes back to compete at WrestleMania 39.
