Kidding aside, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson sent the internet into a frenzy after uploading a new trailer for the upcoming DC Extended Universe film, Black Adam. Unfortunately, it did not generate the kind of publicity that Warner Bros. Discovery and The Rock expected. Fans expressed their rage upon seeing that Warner Bros. had used footage from the Joss Whedon cut of the Justice League and not from Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which came out last year. If nothing else, the outrage all but proved that there’s still fervent demand for the restoration of the Snyderverse despite reports that executives over at the Hollywood studio regret giving the green light to the 4-hour movie. Johnson has since corrected the tweet and uploaded an edited version. It still doesn’t have footage from Zack Snyder’s Justice League, but it appears to have worked to appease the angry mob.

After bombing out in theaters at the global box office and among critics, Whedon was later outed by a lot of people who worked on the film. Particularly, Whedon had been criticized for fostering a toxic and hostile work environment, especially during the reshoots. Whedon hasn’t found work ever since 2017, which suggests that the accusations are true. But, it’s still telling that Warner Bros. still refuses to use footage from the Snyder Cut. This implies that the studio isn’t willing to give Snyder Cut fans a glimpse of hope. Having said that, we’re curious to find out if the actual Black Adam film will make references to the Justice League. From what we know, Black Adam will take place in modern times, possibly after the events of Peacemaker Season 1. If this is the case, Black Adam will have to explain why we’ll see the Justice Society of America deal with Teth Adam’s rampage - not the Justice League. Also, if we’re being honest, we’re excited to find out if the rumors that Henry Cavill will return as Superman in the post-credits scene of Black Adam are true. Thankfully, with Black Adam crashing into theaters all over the globe on October 21, we won’t have to wait for a long time to find the answer to all these questions.
