Traveler’s Tales’ latest brick-filled romp throughout a galaxy that’s far, far away is its most expansive effort yet, as the adventure will take gamers through nine main Star Wars films, starting from the original trilogy to the sequel trilogy, the latter of which are completely new adaptations. It’s hard to put into words just how humongous the roster in The Skywalker Saga is, with over 300 playable characters and decades’ worth of material. Ambitious doesn’t even begin to describe The Skywalker Saga, and while the numerous delays might turn fans off, the critics agree that Traveler’s Tales made the wait since 2019 well worth it. VGC’s Jordan Middler gave Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga a 5/5, saying that “It feels like TT knows that this is very likely its last chance to do this series justice, and it’s not only done that, it’s created what is the very best Lego game, and frankly, one of the best Star Wars games that has ever been made.” Meanwhile, IGN’s Tristan Ogilvie, who gave the game an 8/10, thought that the compilation wasn’t perfect, but “there were otherwise enough laugh out loud gags and surprising shifts in gameplay to keep me thoroughly engaged from the opening crawl of Episode I all the way through to the end of Episode IX.” Here’s a compilation of all the notable critic reviews of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and their scores:
ScreenRant - 4.5/5 ShackNews - 9/10 Pure Xbox - 8/10 Push Square - 8/10 Destructoid - 7.5/10 GameRant - 4/5 Nintendo Life - 9/10
It’s safe to say that there’s no need to worry if you’re getting your money’s worth with The Skywalker Saga. Even though the vast content might feel like too much to handle at times, critics agree this is a good problem to have. TT Games’ expertise and knowledge of the Star Wars mythos are on full display here, retaining the charm and humor of the franchise while also infusing the game with its flavor. More importantly, TT did not let the sheer scale of the project get to them, pursuing all bugs and technical issues with the relentless drive exhibited by the inquisitors hunting down the last of the Jedi. TLDR; Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is TT Games’ best outing to date. Speaking of Star Wars, Disney+ had bad news to share with eager fans as the streaming platform delayed the premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi by two days. If it’s any consolation, Donald Glover did “confirm” his involvement in the upcoming Lando series. Finally, there are reports that Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts could reveal Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 in May.
