As a result, the Nintendo Direct event scheduled to take place later this week is something fans of the Super Mario franchise are eagerly looking forward to, especially since it will focus on the Super Mario Bros. movie. Before then, however, a McDonald’s employee might have provided the first look at what the Mario character will look like in the movie. The leaker initially posted the image to Discord after which the streamer, ConnorEatsPants, uploaded the same image to his Twitter account where it soon went viral among fans of the franchise. The Discord poster claims that the popular fast-food franchise has promotional material in anticipation of the movie’s first trailer, which Nintendo plans to release later this week at the Nintendo Direct event.
— connor (@ConnorEatsPants) October 5, 2022 While Mario’s image in the picture seems in line with that of the character in recent games, there were certain discrepancies and viewers were quick to point them out. The alleged animated Mario’s design has a collar, fuller cheeks, buttoned shirt, more realistic arms, and a highly detailed moustache. The animated movie features an ensemble cast of Hollywood’s finest actors. Chris Pratt will voice the titular character, while Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black, Keegan Michael-Key, Kevin Michael-Richardson, Fred Armisen, Seth Rogen, Sebastian Maniscalco, and Jack Black will voice other characters pivotal to the story. On the other hand, the movie’s teaser poster is showing the Italian plumber in his famous dungarees as he looks on in what we presume is the Mushroom Kingdom. Keep in mind that the leaked image is only a rumor at this point. Fortunately, Nintendo Direct will take place sooner than later. It won’t take long before we can confirm if this story is true. Speaking of, Nintendo confirmed earlier this year that it has decided to push back the film’s release date to April from its original December 12 schedule. The character’s creator promises that it will be worth the wait.
