Set to explore the years following the events of 2005’s Revenge of the Sith and the first Star Wars film from 1977, Obi-Wan Kenobi will show events that casual audiences might not be familiar with. Now, it appears that the upcoming Disney+ show might tie video game canon with current events. According to McGregor on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the storylines will have to “match up” and “you can’t have some fact in a video game that doesn’t match up to the movie.” While McGregor did not explicitly name a video game nor state outright if Obi-Wan Kenobi will tie into the events of a Star Wars game, it didn’t stop fans from speculating about what McGregor meant. The biggest clue that Obi-Wan Kenobi will acknowledge the events of Fallen Order is where both fall into the Star Wars timeline. The former is set four years after the events of Fallen Order, which itself takes place five years following Revenge of the Sith. With Fortress Inquisitorious appearing in the trailer for the latest Star Wars show to hit the popular streaming platform, there’s reason to believe that two of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy will meet up. If anything, we know that The Inquisitors, with the Second Sister leading the way, will hunt down Obi-Wan just as they caused trouble for Cal Kestis. As the Third Sister and the Fifth Brother will also appear in Obi-Wan Kenobi, as will the Grand Inquisitor, we wouldn’t be surprised if a Fallen Order cameo will happen. The good news is that, with only a few weeks to go until May 27, we’ll find out soon enough if Cal Kestis will make his live-action debut in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Who knows? Disney and Electronic Arts might use Obi-Wan Kenobi to help generate hype for the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel, which might get an official reveal in a few weeks’ time.
