After the Game of Thrones prequel premiered last month, HBO has since renewed the show for a second season following a record-setting premiere. This all but alleviated any concerns that House of the Dragon would suffer from the backlash resulting from the highly divisive final season of Game of Thrones. Now, it appears that House of the Dragon is turning a lot of naysayers into believers and effectively guaranteeing that we’ll be seeing more shows set in Westeros in the future....

Fast forward to later last year and Returnal was one of the games included in the infamous Nvidia GeForce Now leak. Since then, we’ve been getting more and more info about its PC port, including a series of SteamDB listings. However, the most damning piece of evidence comes from Housemarque at GDC 2022. Is RalphsValve’s GTA IV remastered leak credible? According to @RalphsValve on Twitter, a GTA IV remaster is coming in 2023. However, while RalphsValve is the first public figure to make such a statement in a while, there is an earlier leak that was posted on 4chan. What’s even more interesting is that the 4chan leak contains details of remastered versions of multiple Rockstar Games titles - yes, not just Grand Theft Auto IV....

In the official trailer for Mayans M.C. season 4, FX used atmosphere to set the tone for the show’s upcoming season, instead of specific clips and sequences. Specifically, the Mayans’ design scheme, a face superimposed with a skull, is front and center with a heavy focus on a brawl between the Sons of Anarchy and the Mayans to the tune of Heads Will Roll. FX’s Sons of Anarchy was one of the network’s top shows for most of its run from 2008 to 2014....

Sjunde AP-Fonden, a Swedish state-run pension fund, has sued the two parties and filed a 205-page complaint that accuses the two companies of collusion. According to Bloomberg Law, the lawsuit alleges billion-dollar deal was “rigged to exploit the beleaguered gaming giant’s sexual harassment crisis and protect its CEO,” following allegations of sexual harassment, employment discrimination, and retaliation on the part of Activision Blizzard. Moreover, the former and current members of the board, including CEO Bobby Kotick, are facing allegations of engineering an underpriced deal in exchange for terms that would see Kotick, who has been shrouded in controversy, remain CEO until the deal is complete....

In addition, Netflix has also stepped away from working with Smith, dropping its plans for Fast and Loose, a movie that would have starred Smith as an amnesiac crime boss who is living a double life as a CIA agent. For example, in the comic books, the original Hobgoblin brainwashed Ned Leeds to stand in for him on several occasions. Leeds ends up committing several crimes during his time as Hobgoblin. Having said that, Leeds was more than happy to lean in on his MCU character becoming the Hobgoblin in the future. Fans even jumped in on this theory after the events of last year’s Spider-Man: No Way Home where Parker’s final wish was for everyone to forget about Peter Parker....

For the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X, this isn’t that big of a problem. While Microsoft and PlayStation both have announced an attractive list of next-gen exclusive titles, most of the big launches have been cross-generation. This means that some AAA titles will still be available on the last-gen and current-gen consoles. Sony, in particular, seems to have backtracked from its initial bet on the PS5. Not that it hasn’t released PS5 exclusives....

Long-time series producer, Eiji Aonuma, confirmed the delay in a new video showcasing a brief look at the Breath of the Wild sequel. In his statement, Aonuma apologized to those who were looking forward to seeing Breath of the Wild 2 come out later this year. Aonuma doubled down on the follow-up’s quest to upstage the original title by taking the adventure to “the skies above.” Unfortunately, because of the “expanded world” and the “wider variety of features” for players to enjoy, the entire development team will need a little longer to polish all the details....

Chief Programming Officer for Streaming of ViaComCBS, Tanya Giles, confirmed this at the Television Critics Association during a Paramount+ panel. According to Giles, the two new South Park movies are part of the 14-movie deal that showrunners Trey Parker and Matt Stone signed earlier this year. What’s next for the South Park franchise? In case you didn’t know, Parker and Stone inked a new deal earlier in August. As part of the agreement, Paramount+ is guaranteed at least 14 original South Park movies, with two releasing through 2027....

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered’s arrival on the PC was one of the biggest surprises of the June State of Play showcase. The 2018 title effectively served as Insomniac Games’ audition piece for Sony Interactive Entertainment. After the game received critical acclaim and sold well, Sony acquired Insomniac Games and it’s been a first-party studio since. But, while the Spider-Man games look awesome on the PS4 Pro and the PS5 via subsequent updates, you can’t deny that it would be awesome to see the game on a more powerful machine like a top-of-the-line gaming PC....
