The interview, which took place in French, was translated by a ResetEra user named Angie. He made the following comment, “I’m working with the original creators [Team Silent] at Konami [and] there are several games in development as we speak. There are several teams on it with a big line of games. They will revive the franchise. I think they were [Konami] really impressed by the success of the remakes of Resident Evil that are evidently exceptional games.”

Silent Hill is a single-player survival horror game by Team Silent that came out in 1999. It’s widely considered by critics and fans as one of the best video games of all time. It ended up getting several new installments as well as a movie, a visual novel, and a series of comic books. Over the years, numerous rumors have emerged that Konami is reviving the game series. In another interview earlier in the year, Christophe Gans revealed the company is planning a big reboot. Despite the numerous rumors, Konami has not broken its silence on what it’s working on, or even if it is working on anything. While Gans’s comments are welcome news to fans of the series, he is not an in-house member of Konami and, consequently, does not take any part in the company’s decision-making. As a result, his words on the Silent Hill franchise should be taken with a grain of salt. However, the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea recently rated an unannounced Silent Hill game titled Silent Hill: The Short Message. While Konami did not show up in the rating, several signs, including Gans’s comments, point to the company working on at least one game. Besides, the company recently filed to have some allegedly leaked images removed from Twitter, which all but confirmed that it is working on something.
