With Days Gone already available as well as Uncharted and God of War soon to follow, it’s clear that Sony means business with its expansion. To prove this, Sony just launched the PlayStation PC label.
How many PC ports of PlayStation exclusives are coming?
Sony’s PlayStation PC label launch didn’t come with much fanfare. Instead, Steam users only noticed it when they say that Sony had switched the name of the publishers of its game’s PC ports from PlayStation Mobile to PlayStation PC LLC. Upon further investigation, we found out that Sony Interactive Entertainment had already registered the name back in April. On the surface, the name is more of a formality than anything else. However, the fact that Sony went as far as to launch an entirely different label for its PC ports suggests that this is only the beginning. Sony made a lot of waves when it confirmed that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, as well as God of War, are all headed to the PC. Uncharted 4 and God of War are the two best-selling PS4 games with a combined total of nearly 35 million. In addition, a recent listing spotted by SteamDB hints at a Sackboy: A Big Adventure PC port as well. Meanwhile, a PC port of Ghost of Tsushima is rumored to be in the works too. Sony has a treasure trove of exclusives that it can dig into for the next few years. Of the ten best-selling PS4 games, 8 are exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and only 3 are available on the PC. Given that PlayStation already owns Nixxes Software, we could see a marked increase in PC ports of PlayStation exclusives in 2022 and beyond.
