Eagle-eyed observers spotted a recent update on the Japanese and the United States PSN pages revealing that Valkyrie Elysium will come out on September 28 and 29, respectively. In addition to this, the since-deleted PSN listing update includes several new screenshots about the game as well as a general synopsis, which you can view below:

Valkyrie Profile is a cult classic RPG series by Square Enix that gained prominence in the late 90s and early 2000s for the original PlayStation. Valkyrie Elysium will serve as the franchise’s first mainline entry since 2009 when Covenant of the Plume came out for the Nintendo DS. RPG fans can barely contain their excitement for Valkyrie Elysium following its initial announcement in March. If nothing else, it’s a great way to kill time while waiting for Square Enix’s more prominent RPG games to come out like the Crisis Core remaster, Final Fantasy VII Remake Rebirth, and Final Fantasy XVI. Speaking of Square Enix, the Japanese studio has a massive lineup of “smaller” titles coming out throughout the rest of the year. In addition to Crisis Core Reunion and Valkyrie Elysium, fans can also look forward to Live a Live, Forspoken, Diofield, and Star Ocean: The Divine Force. It all feels like Square Enix is getting all of its “lesser” titles out of the way so that they don’t get swallowed by next year’s behemoths. Hopefully, Square Enix can give these games the marketing that they deserve. In particular, Square Enix has been awfully quiet when it comes to Forspoken. We’re hoping that Square Enix will join companies like Ubisoft at Gamescom 2022 to turn the spotlight on the aforementioned upcoming RPG titles
