According to internet rumors, The Beyonder will be the main antagonist of Secret Wars. A cosmic entity, The Beyonder is described as the sum total of an entire multiverse called the Beyond-Realm, or simply Beyond, hence the name. In Marvel Comics, the title Secret Wars has been published in two different comic events. In the first version, the Beyonder observes the mainstream Marvel universe and is fascinated by the presence of superheroes on Earth and their potential. He chooses a group of heroes and supervillains and teleports them against their will to Battleworld, a planet he created in a distant galaxy. The Beyonder then proceeds to pit the two groups against each other for his entertainment.

Although no details have been revealed about the film’s plot, we can expect scriptwriters to combine concepts from the two versions to create a single storyline. For example, reports claim that the MCU’s version of the Beyonder will be a variant of Kang the Conqueror. This means that the Avengers might defeat Kang at the end of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, only to come up against a more powerful Kang variant.

In any case, all we can do is wait and see what the MCU has in store for us. Who knows? Robert Downey Jr. might really come back as Iron Man to help everyone. We’ll have to wait until May 1, 2026, to watch Avengers: Secret Wars in theaters.
