In its latest earnings briefing, Ubisoft confirmed several big changes to its pipeline. The main highlight is that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandor is no longer releasing in December. The French publisher is pushing Frontiers of Pandora, which is being developed by Massive, the same team behind The Division, to the next fiscal year. This hints that Frontiers of Pandora could come out anytime between April 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024, which is quite a lengthy delay. Despite the unfortunate news, Ubisoft remained positive in light of the delay. According to Ubisoft, it remains “committed to delivering a cutting-edge immersive experience that takes full advantage of next-gen technology,” adding that Avatar “represents a major multi-year opportunity” for the company.

Some speculate that this could have been Project Rift, the codename for the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC that later became a standalone title. Finally, Ubisoft revealed that it had canceled Splinter Cell VR and Ghost Recon Frontline. Ubisoft first announced the latter last year. It didn’t take long for gamers to label it as a Call of Duty: Warzone clone and that was pretty much it. Ubisoft canceled its initial beta test almost immediately and its later attempts proved unsuccessful. Thankfully, Ubisoft’s earnings report isn’t all bad news. The company confirmed that it’s still set to reveal “the future of Assassin’s Creed” in September. Ubisoft added that Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope and Skull and Bones are both still on track to hit store shelves on October 20 and November 8, respectively. It also appears that The Division Resurgence, a mobile spin-off to Ubisoft’s hit online action RPG, is still in development. We’ll likely find out more about what Ubisoft has in store for fans in August at Gamescom 2022.
